Haters will Hate!
The internet is a great place to post concerns important to you! But what you type today can hurt you tomorrow!
I've learned through experience, over the years, how others are quick to spread hate, lies and slander about other breeders. (good or bad), they are threatened by or attack those whom have done them wrong. Many think they know everything and are so quick to spread rumors or bully another! Why are others so quick to rally with malicious motives and defamation of character against someone they have never contacted?
Yes...I'm talking about fellow Samoyed lovers/breeders local and afar. Instead of contacting me and asking questions, other breeders are quick to judge, spread unfounded rumors and lies to hurt my reputation as a Samoyed owner. They have attacked my website, photos, verbiage, sentence structure and etc...
I wish I was amused by the prejudices and their ideals of how I should present myself, behave, write, design, breed, groom, stack, take photos, exhibit and even show in order to fit into their perfect Samoyed Breeder's world or cliche!
Luckily breeding dogs is not my lively hood, profession or goal. My website was created to share my dogs and accidental litter to find them the best forever homes possible!
Should I apologize my website is so polished, has grammar errors, and boasts many high resolution real life photos!
But I am thankful for negative reviews as it motivated me to create this blog page to educate others, and to confirm I don't communicate OFA certifications or Kennel club affiliations, awards and pedigree well enough on my site. (Just CONTACT ME for this info). Never once have I ghosted anyone.
The Breeders who scream/blog the loudest are those very involved in Showing and Breeding and have no time for anyone else.....good or bad. Their main mission is to protect the breed, and control all involved with preserving and breeding the Amazing Samoyed Breed!
Unfortunately the show ring isn't for everyone and even beginners find it difficult to fit in to all the show drama where you'll find plenty of backstabbing , name calling and rumors. Others are so quick to judge and be-little others with their dogs. If you show a sub-par dog, you'll never be accepted into their club and often if you own an imported dog.....the hate is real!
I have mixed feelings about showing. Producing winning dogs is hard work but such an amazing accomplishment! However it also helps to contribute to narrowing of the gene pool for each breed. My mentors over the years have said breeding for physical attributes leads to inbreeding and more dogs with problems. Just ask any veterinarian who specializes in heart and eye disease! Yes...even the best breeders have a dog every once in a while present with hip dysplasia or glaucoma! Dysplasia can pop up from parents with the best hip rating. You can read more on this on OFA's website!
If the show ring isn't your idea of FUN....there are dog performance competitions. These are much more fun for your dog then being subject to endless grooming and traveling rituals while treated as property or used for moments of fame and monetary dreams. Your dog can pull sled, go hiking, ski-journeying, provide therapy at a wide range of facilities and treatment centers and much more.
Remember, you don't have to prove your dog's worth. Your dog can provide you years of wellbeing. They can improve your heart health, keep you fit and active, reduce stress, add meaning to your life, and help with depression. Just be sure your new pups parents have been health tested and screened for genetic defects and abnormalities so your pup has the best chance of living a long happy healthy life with you.
Scammers will Scam!
Be careful. If something sounds too good to be true, it likely is!
In all fairness, the reviewer who is spreading malicious rumors got something right! They are worried about scammers and those taking advantage of others searching for a Samoyed puppy. It happens often and scammers pray on your heart as you fall in love with cute baby Sam photos they've stolen from other breeders.
Beware of the following:
Cheap prices
Asking for additional money
Paid references to give testimony for scammer and fake pups
Breeder asking for money via western union or money gram (Always use credit card so you can dispute)
They delay sending your current or new puppy photos or videos
Just because they have a website doesn't make them legit
Most advertisements have bad grammar, misuse of words and phrases.
Can you speak to the seller over the phone?
Holiday pet scams peak this time of year.
Importer Scams:
Imported dogs can have false microchip numbers and expired vaccines
Smarter Scammers create fake airline emails
They have fake Pet Shipping agents ready to take your money for cheap. Accompanied pets are expensive!
They can't send additional photos or videos of puppy
Ask you to pay for temperature controlled crates
Airway bills are fake with pictures. Airway bills are not available until the day of flight. There are no pics on an airway bill.
My Advice:
The simplest way to avoid a scam is to see the pet for yourself. Meet with the prospective seller and visit the pups! If the seller won't let you.... RUN!
Pay with a credit card or use paypal.
Do a internet copied photo search of your prospective puppy.
Purchasing a puppy is a very important decision and you need to ask many questions and be guarded at all times. If you intuition is telling you something different...listen!
Sometimes you need to run from so called reputable, responsible, or ethical breeders!
